Putin: Russia and Kazakhstan will increase cooperation in the field of aviation and space

Russia plans to build up cooperation with Kazakhstan and other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the aircraft industry. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon.

“I would like to emphasize that our neighbor and ally, the Republic of Kazakhstan, is acting as a partner country of Russia at the current air show. We intend to increase interaction with Kazakhstani colleagues and other members of the Eurasian Economic Union in such a high-tech industry as aircraft construction, ” said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin noted that enterprises of both countries are already implementing a number of promising projects. For example, helicopters of the Mi family are being assembled in Kazakhstan, and the joint project "Baiterek" is being promoted through Roscosmos.

"Its goal is to create an organizational and technical structure for launching spacecraft from the legendary Baikonur cosmodrome using an environmentally friendly launch vehicle," Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a speech at the opening of the MAKS-2021 International Aviation and Space Salon.
