Against the background of new tensions between Serbia and Kosovo, Pristina decided to acquire a squadron of Turkish Bayraktar TB2 strike and reconnaissance drones.
The drones are supposed to be used for reconnaissance in the areas bordering Serbia, as well as to counter the Pantsir-S complexes.
To date, it is known that Pristina and Ankara are already negotiating the supply of Bayraktar TB2 strike unmanned aerial vehicles to Kosovo. Sources report that Kosovo intends to adopt 12 unmanned aerial vehicles in total. At the same time, Turkey and Kosovo have not yet reached an agreement on this issue, however, if necessary, Turkey will be ready to supply strike drones next year.
Recently, the situation on the border between Serbia and Kosovo has seriously worsened. Moreover, the position of Kosovo is actively supported by both the EU and NATO, in connection with which Serbia was literally squeezed. This may be due to the fact that Belgrade actively supports the Russian position.
Experts do not exclude that if Kosovo receives Bayraktar TB2 drones, then Serbia will acquire additional Russian air defense systems.
