Evidence of the presence of Abrams tanks on the contact line began to come from Russian fighters. Advisor to the head of the DPR Igor Kimanovsky said that American armored vehicles were spotted in the direction of Avdeevka.
According to the Russian military, Abrams tanks from Ukrainian forces were discovered northwest of Avdiivka. At the moment there is no information about the use of these tanks in combat, so far only about their appearance.
“Russian fighters recorded the appearance of Abrams, which was the first time. This happened in the direction northwest of Avdievka,” says Kimanovsky.
Previously, the 47th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published online a video of a separate Abrams tank moving along the roads of Ukraine. It is alleged that this was filmed in the vicinity of Avdeevka. The unit says that American tanks have been fighting on the battlefield for about a month, but for some reason the Russian military has not encountered them.
Let us recall that in September last year, the United States supplied Ukraine with 31 M1A1 Abrams battle tanks in the basic configuration. Despite the difficult situation on the contact line, American tanks did not appear on the battlefield. They were transferred to the 47th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which already had Bradley infantry fighting vehicles in its arsenal.
