German concern Rheinmetall AG has presented to the public the new British main battle tank Challenger 3 with improved armor and a 120-mm smoothbore gun. The company calls this tank the most advanced in NATO countries, writes Cyberstate.
The promising Challenger 3 battle tank, which will replace a similar model of the "second" generation, is equipped with an improved engine, hydrogas suspension, improved communications and the Trophy system from Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, designed for active protection against missiles and shells.
Two prototypes of the Challenger 3 are already undergoing testing. Another six will be delivered to the testing grounds in the coming months.
