In Syria, rebels opposing the Kremlin-backed dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad captured three Russian T-90 Vladimir tanks during military operations. This was reported by military and political observer Alexander Kovalenko.
"Syrian rebels are entering into a competition with the Ukrainian army to capture Soviet/Russian models of equipment. One of the most interesting categories is captured T-90A tanks," Kovalenko wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the Syrian Arab Army had a T-90A tank battalion in service, but at least one company has already lost combat capability due to losses and technical problems.
The observer published a photo showing military equipment, including tanks. They are standing on the road. As the expert notes, this is captured equipment.
"On the highway to the city of Khanassera, the rebels captured two more T-90As. As of today, during the period of the rebel offensive, they have captured three T-90A tanks," the analyst claims.
