Hyundai showed a tank of the future with a hydrogen power plant and a drone included. In the future, it could replace the main tank used in the Korean army, known as K2 "Black Panther". The new generation tank received autopilot, its own drone and different “tits”. There is no information about the serial incarnation of the car yet, and it is unlikely to appear by the end of the current decade.
The first images of this tank appeared a year ago. It is developed by Hyundai Rotem - a Hyundai daughter specializing in trains, tanks and armored vehicles, as well as autonomous weapons systems.
Part of the outer K3 panels are made in the form of a hundred. In front, thin LED headlights are installed, above which a 130-millimeter smooth-barrel gun rises. The body is made of steel and porcelain stoneware. According to Hyundai Rotem, the paint of the tank can absorb the rays of different spectra so that the tank is more difficult to detect.
According to Hyundai, the tank will be as automated as possible, although it will be able to accommodate a crew of three people - a commander, a driver mechanic and a gunner. He will also have his own breeder.
First, K3, as well as the current K2, can be produced with a diesel engine, and then - in stages - Korean tanks will replace hydrogen. Plus such a tank installation in a low thermal signature compared to heavy fuel options, which will also increase stealth. According to the forecast of Hyundai Romem, the K3 technology will be completed no earlier than 2030.
