The Russian Aviation Plant named after Gagarin (KnAAZ) is being modernized in order to increase the production of fifth-generation Su-57 fighters. This was announced by the General Director of the state corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov, RIA Novosti reports.
“Now at KnAAZ named after Yu.A. Gagarin in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, a large-scale modernization project is being implemented, which will significantly increase the production of these combat vehicles,” the press service of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade writes as the words of the head of the state corporation.
It is noted that the plant is modernizing production, expanding production capacity, putting new equipment into operation and additionally attracting production personnel. Also, KnAAZ has created a modern production line for final assembly.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported that KnAAZ manufactured and handed over to the Russian Ministry of Defense a batch of serial fifth-generation Su-57 fighters.
